The Greece Concert Band plays light classics, marches, pops, Broadway, and traditional band literature. (listen here) The approximately 40 voluntary musician members meet at 7PM on Tuesday nights at the Athena High School Band Room and practice until 9PM. The Group is part of the Greece Performing Arts Society (GPAS), which has been inexistence for over 40 years.
The musical season for the Band is determined by the Greece Central School calendar from September through June. Typically, rehearsals are cancelled when school is not in session. Concerts have previously been in the Athena Performing Arts Center, Athena gymnasium, local churches, other high schools, Red Wings Baseball Games, and other venues as asked. (see past programs here)
The band is open to all percussion and wind players high school age through senior citizens. Auditions are currently not required. Join Us.
